Keep cool?
Imagine someone has a major goal that is currently their number one priority. It is an intensive theory program that I would like to complete as efficiently as possible during the summer. Until the end of August. At the same time, there is a relationship. The other person is currently travelling and may want to continue travelling during the summer. The person completely accepts that they are free to do so and make their own decisions. However, the person also has its own view of what a healthy relationship should look like. The current thought is that the priority should remain the goal, while the relationship is maintained. For example, focusing on studying during the week and seeing each other every couple of weeks for a weekend, with calls and communication in between. How would you approach this?Would you:Focus almost entirely on the goal for a few months?Schedule regular time together regardless of workload?Be completely flexible and decide week by week?Use a different approach altogether?I’m interested in hearing how people balance a serious long-term goal with a relationship without neglecting either one.
